Firefighters with Red River Fire District are taking the next step in expanding their emergency response skills by participating in a Common Vehicle Rescue Awareness course hosted by the Firefighters Training and Education Association (FETA) and taught by instructor Andy Bartlett.

The class is the first of a three-part training series firefighters will complete as they work toward becoming state-certified Common Vehicle Rescue Technicians.

Vehicle crashes are among the most complex emergency calls firefighters respond to, often requiring specialized rescue techniques to safely free trapped occupants. District officials say the advanced training will help ensure firefighters are prepared to respond quickly and effectively when every second counts.

The Red River Fire District thanked FETA for hosting the course and Bartlett for sharing his expertise and providing valuable hands-on instruction throughout the training.

Fire district leaders also praised the dedication of their firefighters, noting that members continue to invest time in training and professional development to strengthen their skills and provide the highest level of service to the residents of Red River Parish.
