Louisiana State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in Mansfield.

According to State Police, detectives with the Bureau of Investigations were requested by the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate the incident, which occurred at approximately 3:44 a.m. on July 7 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 171 and U.S. Highway 84 in Mansfield.

Investigators are currently processing the scene and gathering evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

No additional details about the incident or those involved have been released, and the investigation remains active.
