Altercation at Hall Summit Dollar General ends in shooting and arrests

A violent altercation inside the Dollar General in Hall Summit on Thursday, February 19, led to chaos for shoppers and ended with one person shot and both individuals involved behind bars.

According to reports from witnesses, tensions erupted when a man and a woman began fighting in the middle of the store. “The clerk was hollering at them to break it up and get out,” one shopper recalled. Witnesses stated that the pair left briefly, but moments later the man returned — followed soon by the woman, who was reportedly carrying a firearm.

“We all backed up toward the hallway on the other end,” said another customer. Moments later, gunshots were heard. “We were all in the back when we heard gunshots. It was scary,” a witness said.

Persons knowledgeable confirmed that Chad Feazell sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Despite his injury, both individuals fled the scene before police arrived. Witnesses told RRPJ that the incident appeared to stem from a long-standing family dispute.

According to the weekly arrest report, Feazell has charges pending of simple battery and disturbing the peace by engaging in a fistic encounter.

Tarkedria Hill, the woman allegedly involved in the shooting, was also arrested. Her pending charges include:
Illegal discharge of a firearm
Disturbing the peace by engaging in a fistic encounter
Simple criminal damage to property
Aggravated battery

The Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced that a full statement with final charges will be released on Monday afternoon.

Shoppers and staff at the Hall Summit Dollar General were shaken but unharmed. The investigation remains ongoing.
