Riverdale Academy will host 2025 Homecoming tonight Friday, October 10. The night begins with an Alumni reception, with light refreshments, at 5:30pm. Classes honored include 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005, and 2015. The 2025 Homecoming Court presentation begins at 6pm. The game kicks off at 7pm. 

First Baptist Church Coushatta is celebrating their 175th Anniversary Sun Oct 19 starting at 11am. There will be a meal served following the service.

50 Mile Trail of Treasure – from Stonewall, LA to Joaquin, TX (Hwy 171 to Hwy 84) – Sat Oct 11.

A recital featuring piano music from Ecuador will be presented at Northwestern State University on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. A livestream will be available at http://www.nsu.la/CAPA-LIVE. “Piano Music From Ecuador” is an hour-long recital program showcasing some of the rich traditions, dances, and rhythms of the country. Composers include Luis Humberto Salgado, Gerardo Guevara, Ines Jijon, Sixto Maria Duran and Salvador Bustamante Celi. Featured guest artists will be Norman Cuesta of the Conservatorio de Música Salvador Bustamante Celi and Universidad Nacional de Loja in Ecuador and his high school student, Ana Sofia Freire will be joining NSU piano majors from Ecuador, Erik Cabrera, Irene Gomez, Jose Luzuriaga, Belen Tenesaca, Steven Mendoza and Melissa Patino and Associate Professor of Piano Francis Yang.

LSU/Vanderbilt will kickoff at 11/11:45am in Nashville Sat Oct 18 on either ABC or SEC Network.

New Ebenezer Baptist Church will host a Women’s Fall Craft Night Sun Nov 2 at 5pm in the fellowship hall. Cost $12. Join for a time of fellowship, food and fun. Participants will make holiday doormats. The cost covers the doormat and paint supplies.

Country singer Cody Johnson has been forced to cancel the rest of his 2025 tour after a severe infection led to a burst eardrum that required immediate surgery.
