
On October 1, 2025, at approximately 1:17 p.m., the Red River Fire District was dispatched to a report of a pasture and woods fire. Fire units arrived on scene to find a large, fast-moving fire threatening three homes and spreading into nearby woods and pastureland.
Firefighters deployed two brush trucks, a firefighting side-by-side, and two additional firefighting apparatus to contain the fire. Mutual aid assistance was also provided by the Desoto Fire District 8. Crews were able to bring the fire under control after it burned an estimated 50 acres.
These coordinated responses ensured that no homes were damaged and no injuries were reported.
