The Natchitoches Meat Pie Festival is slated for Sept 19 & 20. Friday night opens with bands at 6pm. Saturday opens officially at 9am with bands starting at 11:30am. Free admission both days.
A TEAS Test Boop Camp will be offered through Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the second-floor classroom of South Hall on NSU’s Natchitoches campus. Registration is $40 if completed by Sept. 12 and $50 after that date. The boot camp provides study tips for test success and a review of the TEAS sections on reading, math, science and English. Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will offer a Pick Up Your Brush painting class Sept. 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of South Hall. The fee is $45. In the class, participants will learn the art of painting using step-by-step instructions to create a masterpiece. Students will take home a completed painting at the end of the class. The painting will be titled “Truckload of Fall.” No special or prior skills are required. Children ages 7 – 12 years old are allowed to enroll, but a parent must accompany the child during the entire class. Parents do not have to enroll unless they take part. All supplies are included. Hall Summit is having a Community Yard Sale Saturday, Oct. 4 from 8am – 2pm at the Hall Summit Community Center & Park. Spots are only $10. All money raised goes toward the park.
