It’s the most wonderful time of the year—and it starts with a BER

September has arrived, which means the BER months—September, October, November, and December—are officially here. For many of us, these three little letters signal the most festive stretch of the year.

Once the calendar flips to a “ber,” it feels like a switch flips too. Suddenly, pumpkins start appearing on porches, pumpkin spice lattes make their triumphant return, and Hocus Pocus finds its way back onto our TV screens. Summer heat may still linger in Louisiana, but there’s something about the BER months that makes us want to cozy up, decorate, and dream of cooler days.

These months are also packed with tradition. September ushers in football season and the first hints of fall décor. October brings Halloween magic and trick-or-treating. November warms us with family gatherings and Thanksgiving feasts. And December, of course, sparkles with holiday lights, music, and celebrations that carry us straight into a brand-new year.

Best of all? As the saying goes, “Decorating early for fall won’t cause hurricanes anymore.” Now that we’re officially out of the summer’s stormiest stretch, you can hang that wreath, sip that cider, and light that cinnamon candle guilt-free.

So go ahead—embrace the BER months. Whether your tradition is football tailgates, baking pies, holiday shopping, or simply sitting on the porch watching the leaves change, this is the season that reminds us to slow down, savor, and celebrate.
