This Swedish-developed blood test marks a significant advance: a low-cost, non-sequencing assay capable of identifying 14 cancers early with promising sensitivity and specificity. While its performance is compelling, further large-scale research is needed before it becomes a reliable tool in clinical practice. If validated, it could complement existing DNA-based MCED tools by reaching cancers that traditional methods may miss.
