
At 8:15pm on July 15, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS and a member of Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #9 responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle crash with injuries on La. Hwy 486 near Campti according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrived on scene finding the sole-occupant of the vehicle suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
According to deputies, the preliminary investigation revealed, a 2001 Toyota van operated by a 63-year-old Coushatta man was traveling westbound on La. Hwy 486 near Campti. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the road on the right side. The vehicle then continued to travel down an incline striking a concrete culvert and embankment coming to a rest.
Deputies say the driver was wearing a seat belt.
The driver was transported from the scene to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

If you are traveling through the area, drive carefully and avoid distractions. The scene remains active while towing services attempt to clear the wreckage.
