National Law Enforcement Day

January 9 is considered National Law Enforcement Day. This year, it was also a National Day of Mourning for the laying to rest of past President Jimmy Carter.

This day is a time to thank all the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting the people.

On Thursday, Mayor Cole and Sheriff Edwards accompanied their officers and accepted an invitation from First Methodist Church Coushatta for a meal honoring all of the law enforcement employees in Red River.

The people of this parish appreciate how difficult law enforcement work can be and appreciate their sacrifice and risk.
