What hits the spot on cold wintery nights?

With cold nights in the forecast, RRPJ thought a good bowl of chili would hit the spot. Here’s a recipe shared on Facebook that you throw together in the crockpot before you head out to work. Supper’s ready when you get off.

Crockpot Chili
Ingredients:
1 pounds beef or turkey
1 sweet onion diced
3 cloves garlic minced
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
3 cups beef broth
1 can kidney beans
1 can red beans
1 yellow bell pepper diced
Spices:
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
1/2 teaspoon black
Salt to taste
In a pan, brown the beef with onions and cook till soft. Add garlic and saute for 1 minute.
Transfer to the crockpot. Add beef broth, diced tomatoes, beans, bell pepper, and the rest of the ingredients.
Cover the crockpot and set to low for 8 hrs (or high for 4 hrs).
Once done, season to taste.
