Red River Parish School Board met Monday, July 8.  At the meeting, President Ricky Cannon announced that he wished to step down from the president’s position due to health concerns.  The board wished Cannon good health and approved his request.  

Mr. Cleve Miller was approved to move from the Vice Presidency to president and Mrs. Melinda Hardy assumed the Vice Presidency.   Hardy is the only board member eligible to run for reelection in the next term.  

In other business, the board approved the contracts of central office directors and school principals.  

“The school year is shaping up to be a positive year for all of us”, said Superintendent Strong.  “We are preparing to offer the best education and experiences for our students.”
