
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, the US 84 bridge over Bayou Pierre at the Red River/DeSoto Parish line is closed due to the condition of the structure.
DOTD crews are mobilizing in order to conduct necessary repairs to the bridge deck.
This bridge is located approximately 3.25 miles east of the I-49 interchange (see included map).
This closure is anticipated to be in place for approximately three days, weather permitting.
Restrictions/Permits: Total bridge closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place. Primary detour will be LA 509.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
