CHRISTUS Coushatta Health Care Center launches patient transport van

(COUSHATTA, Louisiana) – CHRISTUS Coushatta Health Care Center is excited to introduce its new patient transport van and two special events to highlight the new transportation service available for outpatient services to community members in need.

“Delaying health care due to lack of transportation can have serious consequences on a patient’s health, especially those patients with chronic conditions,” said Brandon Hillman, administrator of CHRISTUS Coushatta. “The transport van will be a great resource for patients in managing their health.”

On Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m., a public blessing and dedication will be held in the administration parking lot of CHRISTUS Coushatta Health Care Center, 1635 Marvel St., with a reception to follow in the administration building board room.

The public can also learn more about the transport van on Saturday, June 29, at the Hall Summit Hometown Festival and BBQ Cook-Off in Hall Summit.

With the new transport van, community members in need can now request transportation for outpatient services at CHRISTUS Coushatta Health Care Center.

Funds were raised for the new van through the Southwestern Energy Haynesville Charity Classic golf tournament held last October.

“SWN is proud to play a critical role in providing the community with access to healthcare,” said Tommy Clark, senior government affairs manager at Southwestern Energy. “Transportation can often be a barrier to receiving that care, and the CHRISTUS Coushatta transport van will be a great resource to help overcome this issue.”

CHRISTUS Coushatta is grateful to have been the beneficiary of the company’s Haynesville Charity Classic.

“You can see the power of philanthropy exhibited through events like these,” said Amy Seitz Heron, executive director of philanthropy at CHRISTUS Foundation Shreveport-Bossier. “Donors can enjoy a round of golf and support their community at the same time.”
