Remembering the precious life of Silas Andrew Wimberly

Funeral services for Silas Andrew Wimberly, 15, of Hall Summit, LA will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 8, 2024, at First Baptist Church Family Life Center with Dr. Scott Thompson officiating and J. P. Handy assisting. Graveside services will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bro. Reggie Bergeron presiding. Visitation will be held from 12 P.M. until service time on Thursday at First Baptist Church Family Life Center. Services under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.

Silas was born March 16, 2008, in Baton Rouge, LA and passed away February 5, 2024. Silas was a talented musician who had a true passion for playing the drums and guitar. He loved playing at church and alongside his brothers. Silas was a collector of vinyl records. He loved debating, especially with his brothers as well as reading and playing strategic board games. He was also a talented writer who had a gift of expression.

He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed both fishing and hunting. He was dedicated to the sport he loved, boxing, and was a member of Dement Brothers Gym.
Silas was a Believer, a Christian who loved his Lord. He also loved his family and will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Brett Wimberly; paternal grandmother, Louise Wimberly; and maternal grandfather, R. L. Langston.
Silas is survived by his parents, Collin and Gina Wimberly; brothers and sisters, Juliana Handy and husband J.P., Daniel Wimberly, Micah Wimberly, Hope Contreras and husband Geronimo and their daughter Amelia, Seth Wimberly and wife Abigail, Leah Wimberly, and Steven Wimberly; paternal grandfather, William Lary Wimberly; maternal grandmother, Judy Langston; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Wimberly, Seth Wimberly, Steven Wimberly, J. P. Handy, Geronimo Contreras, and Michael Boucher. Honorary pallbearers will be William Lary Wimberly, James Lowring, Henry Kirts, and Wyatt DeMoss.
