Red River Parish has announced the Principal, Teachers, and Support Staff Persons of the Year. In the Superintendent Highlights at the December board meeting, Mrs. Strong said that the Principal of the Year is Mike Beck of Red River Elementary. Mr. Beck was asked to stand, and Strong praised him for his leadership and the school’s gains over his four years. This year, the school grew by almost 9 points.

District Teachers of the year are:
High School Level–Michael Cox
Junior High Level–Jeri Brunson
Elementary Level–Crystal Briggs
Early Childhood– Heather Wren

District New Teachers of the year are:
Chris Sibley
Stephanie Oldenburg

District Support Staff:
Food Service–Connie Demery
Bus Driver–Russell Gray
Elementary Level–Jessica Logan
Junior High Level–Sharon Bradley
High School Level–Thaddius Markray

Mr. Don McCart was also recognized at the meeting. Strong told the Board that Don has always been loyal and willing to ensure all the buses in the fleet are safe and running. “It does not matter what time of day or night or what holiday, Mr. McCart is on call when any of our buses are on the road. He and his team are the best.”

Strong told the Board that all the Teachers and Students of the Year would be recognized at the February meeting.
