Students of the Month at Riverdale Academy

For the month for March, the elementary student of the month was 5th grader Easton Cason, who is the son of Dan and Amanda Cason. Easton attends Fairview Baptist Church and is also very active in school activities. His favorite subject is math, and he plays pee wee football and basketball for the Rebels. His hobbies include basketball, playing outside, and video games. His teacher said he is very respectful and is a hard worker in class.

Middle school student of the month was 6th grader Kenna Coleman, who is the daughter of Alex and Heather Coleman. Kenna’s favorite subject is English, and her hobbies are fishing and riding 4-wheelers. She is a member of Riverdale’s JV cheer squad and 5th/6th grade basketball team. She is also an active member of Junior Beta Club and will be attending the National Convention in Kentucky this summer for her placement at the LA Beta Convention in visual arts.

The high school student of the month was Mason Wilhite, son of Rex and Patty Wilhite. His favorite subject is history, and he is a member of 4-H and an active member of the Beta Club. He attended the LA Beta Convention in February. He attends Springhill Baptist Church, and his hobbies are playing video games, watching tv, and playing baseball. Mason’s teachers said that he is a great student who gets along with everyone and always has a positive attitude.

Riverdale Academy’s students of the month for April are elementary student 4th grader Avery Longino. Avery is the daughter of Josh and Brandy Longino. Her favorite subject at school is English, her favorite food is ramen noodles, and her favorite color is light brown. She loves to cheer, play basketball, and play softball. She recently qualified for the MAIS Overall Reading Fair in Jackson, MS. Her teacher Ms. Julie said that she is always very respectful, well-behaved, does her work, and has great school attendance.

Middle school student of the month is 7th grader Chloe Grace Spradley. Chloe is the daughter of Jason and Kristi Spradley. Her favorite subject at school is ELA, and her hobbies are reading and basketball, but mostly reading. She is an honor roll students that attends Social Springs Baptist Church. Her teacher Mrs. Bethany said that she is a great student who is always respectful and does her work on time. She makes quizlets for her class to study for tests, and she has the most accelerated reading points for 7th and 8th grade.

High school student of the month is sophomore Jadyn King. Jadyn is the daughter of Johnny and Tabitha King. Her favorite subject is math, and she enjoys playing softball, basketball, and hanging out with her friends. She made first team all-district in basketball, and she made first team all-district and all MAIS team in softball. She is an honor roll student, and she is an active member at the Red River Cowboy Church. Her teacher Mrs. Spradley said that Jadyn is a very hard worker that always gives her best effort and strives to do her best every day.

For May, the elementary student of the month is second grader Layla Sneed, who is the daughter of Kaylie Guidry and Kyle Sneed. Layla’s favorite subject at school is science, and her favorite foods are cheeseburgers, pancakes, and spaghetti. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, gaming, and making videos. She is an avid reader and honor roll student, who placed first in the RA reading fair and qualified for district. Unfortunately, a broken leg sidelined her and she was unable to attend the district fair. Her teacher Mrs. Hesson said that Layla has a great sense of humor, is happy-go-lucky, and is a hard worker.

Middle school student of the month is 8th grader Allie Murphy, who is the daughter of Matt and Leslie Murphy. Her favorite subject is math, and her favorite color is light pink. Her favorite food is ribs, and she enjoys rodeoing and track. She recently placed 1st in the 100 meter hurdles at the district track meet and will be a strong contender to win a state title as a high schooler. Allie’s teachers said she is a very hard-working student who has a positive attitude and gets along well with others.

High school student of the month is junior Ryder Huddleston, son of Matt and Celeste Huddleston. Ryder is a member of First Baptist Church in Coushatta. His favorite subject is history, and he maintains the A/B honor roll. He is also a member of the Beta Club. Ryder was a first team all-district quarterback for the Rebels and was a starter for the Riverdale basketball team. In his spare time, he enjoys working with Logan Bounds at 318 Land Service, and he has recently started his own business, Hudd’s Lawn Care. Ryder is a fun, hardworking students who displays a positive attitude and gets along well with others.

The Student of the Month is a community service of Coushatta’s Veterans Service Organization, VFW Post and Auxiliary 7287.  In cooperation with Lott Oil/Chevron, the VFW honors students each month from parish schools during the school year.
