School Board District 1 elect board member, Melinda Hardy, wasted no time after her election than getting into the job. Hardy and her husband Jimmy attended Monday’s meeting of the board.
Hardy will replace Gene Longino, the longest serving member of the school board, in January. Longino had decided some months ago not to seek another term on the board.
On November 8th, Hardy outpolled Jeffrey Deen to win the seat.
At Monday’s meeting, Superintendent Alison Strong welcomed Hardy. Strong noted her victory and also Hardy’s getting into the swing of things as an incoming member of the board.
