
Early voting ended Tuesday evening. Information from the Secretary of State’s office indicated 9.5% of registered voters in the parish cast ballots early for the November 8th election. The count of the early and absentee ballots will begin at 6:00 pm on Tuesday in the Registrar of Voters Office.
Red River voters cast ballots at the Registrar of Voters office in the Courthouse. A total of 546 voters cast ballots during the early voting period. There were 366 who voted in person and 180 who submitted absentee ballots.
The demographic breakdown by race:
White 368, Black 171, and other 7.
Male 218 and female 328
Democrat 256, Republican 251, and other 39
The election will be Tuesday, November 8th. The US Senate race and several constitution amendments are the statewide issues. Locally there are municipal offices and seats on the Red River Parish School Board on the ballot. If you did not vote absentee or take advantage of early voting, go to the polls on Tuesday.
