Throws Knitted For Veterans

There is a group of ladies in our community that meets every Monday morning at 9:30 am to sew.  They have named their group Sewing God’s Love.  They create throws, caps, and all types of things for folks in our community.

This past Sunday, Sewing God’s Love covered the alter rail at First Methodist Church with throws knitted in patriotic red, white and blue.  They are to be presented to veterans at Liberty Baptist Church.  Each year the group creates throws for vets going to various churches in the area.

Group leader is Susan Taylor of Coushatta.  She told the church they are praying for vets as they sewed for them.  Taylor said, “We’re dedicating these throws for the vets to show our love.”  Part of the dedication said, “This throw was made to bring warmth to someone who feels a chill.  May they feel the warm breath of the Holy Spirit as they wrap themselves with it.”

Taylor issued an invitation to anyone in the community who likes to sew to join them each Monday.
