For some weeks now folks have been filling shoe boxes for children in need worldwide. It is Operation Christmas Child, run by Operation Blessing. Many churches and several businesses in the parish have been offering the boxes.
Now it is time to gather them for distribution. A national pickup week has been declared beginning November 14th. If you are filling a box, please return it in time for the pickup.
Locally the boxes will be gathered at Martin Baptist Church on Highway 507. Pickup Monday through Friday, November 14 through 18 and Sunday November 20th will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Saturday November 19th the hours are 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. And Monday November 21 the hours are 9:00 to 11:00 am.
