Red River Head Start and preschool held their first parent involvement event, Donuts with Grown-ups! Over 100 parents, grandparents and relatives joined in the fun and had breakfast with the children. Preschoolers ate in the lunchroom while Head Start ate in their rooms and out in the picnic area of the playground. Parents were able to meet each other and classmates of their child. It was a huge success.

Head Start sponsored the event as part of their campaign to encourage family involvement. Parents need to be active in the education of their children. This is just one part of the services Head Start includes in their programs.
