A home fire on Clear Springs Church Road on Wednesday morning did heavy damage to the structure. The flames were quickly extinguished after fire units arrived on the scene.
Chief John Woodfin said, “The boys made a good stop on that fire today. Extensive fire damage on the inside.”
Also on Wednesday morning the sky west of Coushatta filled with smoke rising high into the air. Chief Woodfin confirmed that it was a controlled burn. The photo below was taken along Highway 1 in the area of the cotton gin.
