Coushatta’s Christmas Parade and Fireworks Spectacular entertained hundreds of people from the parish and surrounding areas. They were not disappointed.
More than 20 floats were entered in the parade. Sheriff’s vehicles, a fire truck and the JROTC marching group lead the parade. The route was from the Industrial Park over to Ringgold Avenue. From there they crossed the railroad and turned onto Front Street. The parade ended at the Methodist Church.
The crowds cheered and the children ran to get candy, cups and toys thrown from each float. There was more than enough to satisfy every sweet tooth.
Organizers of the parade were all smiling. And they were pleased with the turnout. Santa Clause was there with Mrs. Clause. Children could sit on his lap and give out their wish list for presents.
Members of the Coushatta Chamber worked for months to get the parade together. The parade was a spectacular achievement, thanks to their hard work.
