Red River Dominates Arcadia

By Christy Suggs

Red River High School had their home season opener against Arcadia High School.  Bulldog Elijah Harper scored first at 9:42 in the first quarter with a pass from QB Tre Smith. An 80 yard interception by Stanley Sibley put Red River in the red zone and allowed another touchdown. They ended the 1st quarter with a score of 14 to 0.

Three TDs were scored in the 2nd quarter all by completed passes. The Dogs went to halftime leading 35-0.  Stanley Maxie had a forced fumble in the 2nd quarter.

The third quarter started with Arcadia receiving the ball. During the Arcadia drive, the Bulldog defense only allowed 2 yards resulting in the offense having great position on the Arcadia 22 yard line.  This great field position set the Bulldogs up for a rushing touchdown scored by Stanley Maxie. With 3:19 to go in the 3rd Arcadia scored a rushing TD. Capping the 3rd quarter off, Lenard Mosely scored a rushing touchdown making the score 49-6.

During the fourth quarter the Bulldogs scored a combined 14 points. Thanks to a rushing touchdown by Tyler Hughes and a passing TD caught by Christopher Gay. Arcadia also scored in the fourth bringing the final score to RR 63 Arcadia 12. Ryder Hogan had a perfect game going 9 for 9 on PAT’s. The Red River record is now 1-1. They take on Mansfield Wolverines Friday in Mansfield. Come support your RR Bulldogs
