ETC… For Wednesday, September 8th

Open Door Sports had to cancel the Flag Football season this year.  If you signed your child up, you should have received a letter and a refund. We are hoping to try again for soccer in the spring.

Red River 4-H Clubs posted congratulations to Gabi Bounds for winning $50 in the 5th grade level  4-H state record book contest!  Also this week, 4-H Agent Jacque Fontenot is visiting schools in the parish enrolling students for the fall.  On Tuesday she visited grades 1-5 at Red River elementary.  Her Wednesday schedule includes Red River High and Red River Junior High.  Enrollment information will be sent home with students.

Beta Club at Riverdale Academy is creating a uniform closet.  Anyone with uniform shirts or pants that you no longer need, bring them to the school.  Students can get uniforms from the closet in case of accidents, slipping in the mud, or other reason. 

Dr. Kelli Welch Haynes has been named director of the School of Allied Health at Northwestern State University.  Her appointment has been approved by the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System.

Louisiana Tech will hold the 15th annual First-Year Academic Convocation will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 in Centennial Plaza. Academic Convocation welcomes our first-year students to campus and kicks off their college experience. This year, students will hear from Dr. Dickie Crawford, Dr. Les Guice, Dr. Eric Wood and SGA President Kiarra Bombard. Then, they will make their way to the Lady of the Mist to deposit a tenet medallion symbolizing their investment during their time at Tech.
