The Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Riverdale Academy have announced that they will meet each school day.  FCA Will meet before school starts, at 7:30 am in the courtyard at the school for Bible study and prayer.

Red River 4-H said it is time to order broiler chicks for the State Fair of Louisiana. Remember that you are purchasing chicks at your own risk as the Covid-19 situation is fluid.   ALL orders must be submitted no later than NOON on Friday August 27. The delivery date will be Thursday September 16. The cost of chicks will be $0.75 per chick. The State Fair of Louisiana Broiler show is scheduled for Friday October 29.  Contact the office 932-4342 if you need more information.

Louisiana Tech launches Student News Bureau.  Beginning this fall, Louisiana Tech University will offer a new experiential learning opportunity for students interested in careers in journalism, public relations, or communication.  The Student News Bureau began as a partnership between the Office of University Communications (UC) and the School of Communication. Journalism students produced strong work in their classes, and they needed opportunities for publication.

Dr. Judith Roberts, who teaches copy editing and reporting classes in the School of Communication, found in UC the perfect partner. The office issued the best stories as press releases under the student-authors’ names. They were also published on the University’s news page (latech.edu/news) and shared on the University’s social media accounts.

Cellist Paul Christopher of Northwestern State University will be joined by keyboard faculty members Chialing Hsieh, Daniel Ley and John Price in a program of French music on Tuesday, August 31 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
