New Minister at Methodist Church

July 4th was Stuart Sherman’s first day as pastor at First Church and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Churches.  Sherman told the congregation a little about himself and urged them to call with any situation.  “I want to know.  Don’t hesitate to call,” he said.

Sherman said, “I’m glad to be here.  I had requested an appointment somewhere in the Shreveport area.”  He got right to explaining his philosophy.  “I lean right theologically and politically.  I am a conservative.  And I am celebrating 30 years in ministry.”  He added, “My goal is to hear what you have to say and work alongside you.”

The new minister said he likes to hunt and fish and camp.  Anything outdoors.

The church’s former pastor, Curtis Carroll, was transferred to the Methodist Church in Clinton, LA.
