The Ashland Road is closed to through traffic due to repairs being made on a bridge just north of town. DOTD did not give an estimate of the time needed for repairs. And no alternate route is given.
The Red River Sheriff’s Office said:
Per DOTD, the bridge on Hwy 155 west of Carroll Creek Rd failed inspection today. It is now CLOSED and will remain CLOSED until further notice!
We’ve also been advised that work will not begin on the bridge until the water level goes down. If you had planned to travel along this section of Hwy 155 in the near future, you will need to find an alternate route as the bridge/road is impassible.

BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 155 north of Coushatta, Red River Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, the LA 155 bridge over Grand Bayou in Red River Parish will be closed.
This bridge is located approximately 2.5 miles north of the US 71 junction in Coushatta. The closure is necessary due to the condition of the bridge.
The bridge will remain closed until repairs can be made. There is currently no timeline for these repairs, but further updates will be issued when available.
Alternate route: N/A
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the bridge. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
