“I am honored to announce that I will be the next Head Coach for the Red River Lady Bulldogs,” said Kim Burton on Tuesday. She took to social media to announce that she would be the new coach, and Burton thanked the school for giving her the opportunity. It will be her first coaching job.
Red River High said, “Just off graduation Saturday from ULL with a Master’s Degree and a Sun Belt Conference Championship, Coach Burton is now an English 2 teacher and the new Head Girls Basketball Coach. Welcome home Coach.”
Burton played her high school ball at Red River before going to the University of Louisiana Lafayette. She has big shoes to fill after Missy Antilley retired after coaching the Lady Bulldogs for 20+ years. Antilley took the girls into the playoffs several times and made it to the state 2-A finals two years ago.
