Myrle Ike Carlisle

Funeral services for Myrle Ike Carlisle, 80, of Coushatta, LA will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Morgan officiating and Bro. Buster Page assisting.  Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the funeral home.

Myrle Ike Carlisle went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.  Myrle was born in Red River Parish on April 13, 1940 to Violet and Dayton Carlisle.  He married his first love, Barbara Gay in 1959.  Myrle and Barbara shared 50+ years together before her passing.  Myrle remarried Betty Peveto and enjoyed the remaining years of his life with her.  Myrle worked in construction his entire life, starting his career with Linbeck Construction and ended with McInnis Brother’s Construction.  He was dedicated to the Lord and served in the church his whole life.  Myrle had a passion for helping others and would go out of his way for anyone.  He never met a stranger and loved to tell stories to anyone who would listen.  Myrle was a dedicated husband, dad, papaw, brother, and friend.  He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gay Carlisle; parents, Dayton and Violet Carlisle; and one grandson, Taylor Glenn Mangham.

Mr. Carlisle is survived by his wife, Betty Peveto; two daughters, Kathy Carlisle and Kimberly Carlisle Dupree and husband, Randy; one very special granddaughter, Kaylee Lynn Dupree; one cherished grandson, Chancellor Allen Mangham and Amanda; four great-grandsons, Maddux Reece Mangham, Jaxen Gage Mangham, Hagan Glenn Mangham; Kannon James Mangham; one great-granddaughter, Kyndal Mangham; two sons, Brad and Gary Peveto; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Dayton Chester Carlisle; one sister, Villea Rea Carlisle Browning; two special sisters-in-law, Trisha Giddens and husband, Gary and Fay Loggins.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Kevin Francis, Terry Francis, Tim Francis, Rudy Francis, Stephen Giddens, Dr. Wesley Carlisle, Maxie Kitchings, Jr., Dennis Gay, Mark Gay, and Chuck Gay.  Honorary pallbearers will be his great-nephews, Deacons of Faith Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dr. Robert Hernandez, Dr. Wyche Coleman, Bobby Glen Scott, Antonio Lee and Tim Hubbard
