Statement on the Burn Ban from Fire Chief Shane Felts.

To all of Red River Parish. According to the message from the State Fire Marshal, we are under a burn ban because of possible water system water shortage. Also, he left it up to each Fire Chief to decide.

We are letting the people of Red River Parish burn because we don’t solely depend on water systems for water. We know most of the parish either have trees down in their yards or lots of limbs etc. If you need to burn, try to burn in small piles if possible and keep a water hose close by to prevent it from spreading.
