The election last Saturday sparked little interest in the parish.  The only items on the ballot was the Presidential Preference Primary.  The results could have been guessed in advance, which may account for the low voter turnout.

On the Democratic ballot, voters could select from 14 candidates.  Republican voters had 5 to select from.  The nominees of both parties had been determined in advance.

A total of 367 Republicans cast ballots and 360 of those went for President Donald Trump.  The President got 98%.

Of the 14 Democrats, Joe Biden received 343 or 73% of the 470 votes cast.

Statewide the results followed a similar pattern.  Democrats voted for Biden and Republicans voted for Trump.
