Local Food Distribution

Will of God Ministries continued its food distribution program on Monday.  They distributed about 500 boxes of food.

The Minister, Johnny Cox and his crew loaded big boxes of food into the cars of people who drove to the old elementary school in Coushatta.  The line started at mid-morning and the parking lot was filled.

A number of church volunteers helped get the big boxes of food to the peoples vehicles.  Cox assisted with directing traffic in the crowded lot at the Will of God Food Distribution Center.  And he was seen assisting people get the food into their trunks. That is him seen waving to The Journal’s camera as he helped a motorist get in line to get their food box.

After the distribution ended, Valerie Cox posted a note of appreciation.  She said, “THANK YOU for your patience!! We were able to bless approximately 500 people with food items.

“We greatly appreciate all of you who expressed an interest in helping us, but we are working with a small staff of “10 volunteers” to avoid big gatherings and stay safe. This is why it takes longer to get the food out. My sister, Nurse Fletter Taylor, RN, is always present to ensure we are following safety protocol.

“Our Food Bank is considered an “ESSENTIAL BUSINESS” so we have clearance from state officials to get food out to our community during this difficult time. Food Banks across the United States are playing a vital role right now. We are all in this together and Pastor Johnny and I sincerely want to be of support to Red River families.”
