Strong with Quick Hands

On January 18th and 19th Timothy Thomas, class of 2021, traveled to Las Vegas, NV to attend the Rubio Vegas 35 Long Snapping camp.  The Rubio is top long snapping instructor in the country.

While at the camp Thomas received instruction from Rubio as well as several of Rubio’s former students that still compete at the professional and collegiate level.  “This is a great opportunity for Timothy to learn from some of the best long snappers in the country and hone his skills and prepare for an opportunity to play at the next level,” said Randy Thomas, Timothy’s father.

Timothy went through several sessions of instructional and technical time and also competed against other campers throughout the weekend.  This is how Rubio ranks the snappers for recruiting purposes.  Thomas is currently a 3 star long snapper for the class of 2021.  Rubio also makes a YouTube video and review after his camps. Here is Timothy’s review after Vegas 35 camp.

Player reviews for VEGAS XXXV will be done on YouTube. Please click on top video link above to see the review.

Rubio said, “Thomas showed me a ton of potential at the Rubio Long Snapping Summer Camp in TX on June 29th. Really strong Long Snapper with quick hands. He handles pressure well and has some quick hands. Being able to use all of his body will really pick up his overall speed. If Thomas can increase his overall athleticism, Thomas will push his rankings way up the charts. Love his overall attitude and his work ethic.”

Thomas came over from Louisiana and did well at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in TX on April 7th, 2019. He is a large Long Snapper with extremely powerful hands. He is large enough to possibly play two positions in college. Really powerful hands. Starting form is good and he is reaching through well to the punter. Like to see Thomas focus on getting all of his massive lower half involved to gain more overall speed on the ball. Slow motion drills will help a ton to get Thomas on track to dominate at VEGAS XXXIV in May.

Thomas will attend the April Rubio camp in Dallas.  Thomas said, “Long snapping is an art that takes repetition to perfect and every opportunity for instruction will help me and my team in  the upcoming year.”
