One is at home, the other on the road. Both local high school football teams are in action tonight.
Riverdale’s Rebels travel to St. Joseph, Louisiana for a contest with Tensas Academy. The Rebels are looking for their second win of the 2019 campaign. Earlier they had defeated Rebul Academy.
The Red River Bulldogs are 2-2 this season. Tonight will be their second district contest as they play host to the Panthers from Bunkie.
Athletic Director Norman Picou is notifying everyone to come early to the game because parking is at a premium. Picou said, “I wanted to inform you of the parking situation for our home football game on Friday night at 7pm vs Bunkie at Pat Strother Memorial Stadium. There will be limited parking by the field. Gates will open at 6pm. Fans will have to park at the high school and then walk through the cafeteria to get to the stadium due to construction. The cafeteria will be open after the game for you to walk back to your vehicles.”
Journal Sports will provide live coverage of both games. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm. Fans will be notified by text message about 15 minutes prior to kickoff. The link to the game is in the text message. If you do not get those text messages, click on “Join Text Club” on The Journal menu bar.
