ETC… for Wednesday, August 7th

Correction: Qualification for local political candidates will take place in the Clerk of Court’s office in the courthouse. Not the at Registrar’s as previously reported.

Parents of 3 and 4 year olds who have not registered for Head Start can sign up at Red River Elementary. Transportation will be provided.  Call the school at 932-9292 for more information.

First Baptist Coushatta Men’s Ministry will present “A Triple Hook” on August 13th. Tyler Mitchell, American Idol top 40; Justin Coffey, Xtreme Obedience Ministry; and Gevan Spinney pastor of First Baptist Haughton and co-host of “The Way It Was” will be there.  The meal will be catered by Shavers.

Coach Guy Hathorn has moved the start times for Riverdale home football games back half an hour. Hathorn told The Journal the games will start at 7:30 instead of 7:00 pm.  This will give opposing teams and their fans more time to get to the games. Away games will still start at 7:00 pm.

The Creole Heritage Center at Northwestern State University will host an open house from 1-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 in Kyser Hall Room 116.  Guests are invited enjoy refreshments, tour the Center and learn more about the 2019 Creole Heritage Celebration that will take place Sept. 27-28 at NSU.
