The 4-H program is active in all schools in the parish. They teach our youngsters many of the skills they will need to succeed in life.
They recently posted on Facebook: Riverdale 4-h clubs had a great time earlier this week learning the skills they will need to interview for their dream job!
In the news recently was the story of the search for two young girls who wandered away from home. They were lost in very cold weather for an extended period of time. One story recounted that the girls survived in part by using skills they had learned in 4-H. The girls are pictured below.
Teen Leadership is another 4-H program. Three of our 4-h members had a great time learning how to “shine” at the Teen Leadership conference Friday at NSU. From salsa dancing to game shows to cooking, we had fun! Our speaker, from Georgia, made us laugh as well as help us learn more about ourselves so that we could be better leaders.
Red River has a new 4-H Agent. Her name is Jacque Fontenot and her office number is 932-4342. She has been busy visiting 4-H meetings at the various schools in the parish. Call the 4-H office if you would like details of what 4-H offers your children.
