Tonight is Trunk-or-Treat. Businesses, groups, churches and individuals will gather on Front Street and decorate their vehicle trunks. There will be plenty of goodies as kids of all ages trick or treat up and down the street. It all starts at 5:30 tonight.

The Red River Waterway Commission has opened the following boat launches Coushatta, Red Oak, Grand Ecore, Montgomery, St. Maurice, Natchitoches. All other public boat launches operated by the Red River Waterway Commission are closed at this time..

Sweet Potatoes are still on sale!! We are taking pre-orders now. If you have sold any please start bringing the money and slips to the 4-H Office. Last day to turn in is Nov. 1 but I will take them on Nov. 2 until 12:00 if you cannot make it on Nov. 1, Pickup date is Nov. 9

Riverdale Academy posts that they will have a Blood Drive Monday, November 5 from 8:30- 12:30. Please come out and give if you’re able!

The final football game of Red River’s regular season is Friday night in Alexandria. It is a district game against Holy Savior Menard. Kickoff at 7:00 pm. Journal Sports will stream the game live beginning at 6:45 on The Journal’s website and social media pages.
