Last December Red River schools surprised everyone with their holiday-decorated school bus (pictured above). It was the last float and the “wow-factor” in the 2017 Coushatta Christmas Parade.
Fast forward to the present day. The Coushatta-Red River Chamber of Commerce is making plans for the annual Christmas Festival festivities. The date and theme for this year’s parade has been announced.
The parade will be held December 6th. The route will take the parade through the streets of Coushatta and past the reviewing stand on Front Street. The exact parade route, staging and dismissal areas have not been announced.
The theme this year is “Christmas Around the World.” Local schools, churches, groups and individuals are urged to plan now on entering a float. The Chamber said, “Think of countries like Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, France, England, Germany, China and so many more.” The floats should portray how people around the world celebrate the Christmas season.
The Chamber invites businesses, food vendors, and others to get involved with their booths and displays. More details on the Christmas festivities will be posted to the Chamber’s social media sites.
