ETC… for October 3rd.


The Rebels will be at home this Friday, October 5, 2018. This will be their Pink Out game! Everyone is encouraged to wear pink to the game. Kick off is 7:00 p.m. Steven Bryant and Ty Hester will have the play-by-play on The Journal’s website and social media pages.

You can hear me now! If you haven’t discovered it for yourself, the new cell tower located by the railroad tracks in downtown Coushatta has been activated. The signal is much improved throughout the town. No official word from the other major carrier when they will be improving their service to the parish.

In case you haven’t noticed, the speed limit on the Red River Bridge has been increased to 45 mph. The posted limit was 35 for years. Formerly the 45 mph limit began coming into the big curve on US 84 from Armistead. Going the other way the speed was 35 coming out of Coushatta on E. Carroll Street.

Louisiana Tech University’s College of Business recently welcomed its largest-ever entering class comprised of 264 first-time freshmen. Fall 2018 marks the largest enrollment in the history of the College with 1,393 undergraduate and graduate students, continuing a trend of steadily increasing enrollment figures.
