Tuesday was a fun day at Red River Elementary School. The children marched out to the parking lot for their annual Jump Rope For Heart event to benefit the American Heart Association.

The Journal talked with Melana Culbertson, the coordinator of this year’s event. She told us they have done this event every spring since the elementary school was built. She said she did it at Martin school before RRES was opened.

Culbertson said, “It is an all day event. The children have a great time and their sponsors contribute to the American Heart Association. The younger children jumped in the morning before lunch with the older children jumping in the afternoon.”
