Dr. Greg Bell lead the 2017 Christmas Parade as the Grand Marshal. Dr. Bell has been a caring and compasionate member of our medical community for more than 40 years. This year he was also named to lead the Robeline Heritage Parade. Dr. Bell graduated with honors from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and came to Coushatta to begin his family practice in 1975. From that time he has served the communities of Coushatta, Ringgold and has served the residents at the Rehab.
As a leader in our Community he strives to put God first and care for the people of our community with the kindhearted, jovial spirit we have all come to appreciate.
Dr. Bell is a member of the First United Methodist Church and has served in many capacities. He is the Lay Leader of the Church at present.
Outstanding Community Leader is Mrs. Celia Ann Norman. Mrs. Norman has stepped into her role as a community leader in the past few years with great enthusiasm. She is the leader of the Senior Volunteer Program, WOW Ladies, for the schools and community. She is also a member of the Sewing God’s Love outreach group that brings together ladies from several area churches to create blankes, capes, bibs, waker caddies and fidget quilts for hospital patients and nursing home residents.
Working with the Red River Sheriff’s office and the Council on Aging, Mrs. Norman helps promote healthy exercise, organizes self-defense classes and helps to get wheelchair ramps for needy citizens.
In 2016 she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award through the Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana.
