The Bulldogs took the field for a scrimmage with Bossier High School Friday night. They outscored the Bearkats 20-8. The photo with the article is the Bulldog’s first offensive down.

The Bulldogs showed some early season jitters with a couple of early off sides calls. Then they got down to business when first score came on a catch by Christopher Moore in the end zone from Quarterback Gakerreon McDonald. The two-point conversion was good on a pass to Chad Keith.

The second score came on a 70-yard pass from McDonald to Patrick Perkins. The two-point conversion attempt failed. At half time the score was Red River 14 and Bossier High 6.

The Bulldogs scored on a Quarterback keeper with 11:15 remaining in the second half. Gakerreon McDonald took the ball across the goal line for 6 points. The extra point attempt failed.

And that got the Bulldogs to the final whistle with the score 20-8 in their favor.

The Journal observed that new Head Coach John Bachman, Jr. has things well organized. Rodney Bagley is the new Defensive Coordinator. I was also introduced to Josh Alexander, Justin Osborne and Harry Gary who work with the offense.

After the final whistle Coach Bachmann addressed the team congratulating them on working hard and playing hard. Bachmann said, “You worked together. You were a better team mate tonight than you were yesterday.”

The players and coaches enjoyed some Bossier Bearkat hospitality from the grill before boarding the busses for home.
