The dirt and grime on your vehicle from summer driving can be washed away Saturday. The youth group of Open Door Fellowship is holding a car wash at the VFW Post on Highway 71. They are raising money to cover expenses of the youth group’s summer activities.

Friday, today, is Fish day at the Council on Aging. The Depot Diner opens at 11:00 am. On first and third Fridays each month they serve delicious fried catfish and all the trimmings. Parish residents 60 years and older eat for just $3.00. If you aren’t a regular at the Depot Diner, today is a good day to start.

Construction has ended and members of Liberty Baptist Church near Martin are worshiping in their new building. Pastor Harry Bamburg told the Journal to look for their official dedication service in the fall.
