There is Something for the Kids this Summer

It is the tenth time today the kids have complained that there is nothing to do! “Build a Better World” is the theme of the Red River Parish Library’s summer activities.

Kayla Sims is the Children’s Librarian. She told the Journal, “Thursday about 15 kids and their parents and grandparents gathered at the library for a fun afternoon of games.“ It was the first of five Thursday afternoon activities including arts and crafts, games and other fun activities. The Thursday program is in addition to “Summer Mondays” each Monday afternoon at 2:00 pm.

Next Monday Illusionist David Scott presents “Great Scott Illusions.” Children are challenged to see if they can figure out how he does his magic.

While the children are having fun, parents have a comfortable place to relax out of the summer heat. You might even find an interesting book or other relaxing activity. And the entire summer is free courtesy of your Red River Parish Library.
