Local governing bodies are in the process of renewing their tax base. The Police Jury and School Board are taking the legal steps for renewing their taxes.

On May first the Red River Parish Police Jury approved their call to renew their Ad Valorem Taxes.

At their meeting of May 8th the Red River Parish School Board passed the resolution to put their tax renewals on the ballot.

The tax renewals will be on the ballot Saturday October 14, 2017. That is the date of local and statewide elections, including electing a replacement for the State Treasurer. Treasurer John Kennedy ran for and won a seat in Congress.
