CONFIRMATION CLASS INTRODUCED

RRPJ-Confirmation-Mar22
The spring Confirmation Class at First United Methodist Church and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church is underway. Five seventh and eighth graders are taking part.

The Confirmation Class is being lead by Susan Simpson. She introduced the confirmands to the congregation at First Church on Sunday. They are Maddie Hillin, Hardy Dowden, Brett Dancy, Kaitlyn Antilley and Elizabeth Ann Hughes. Hillin attends Wesley Chapel and the others attend First Church.

Simpson said their eight weeks will be very busy. “We will attend Confirmation Day with the Bishop and visit other Methodist worship services and services of other denominations. They will study the history of Methodism and the history of the church” said Simpson.

Most important, said Simpson “we will focus on serving our church through prayers, presence, gifts, witness and service.” One service project is collecting supplies for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Sager Brown Depot located at Baldwin, LA.

The study and projects will take place now through late May. Confirmation Sunday is May 21st.
