Sunday was Colin Wimberly’s last day as head pastor of Open Door Fellowship in Coushatta. He had served the church three and a half years. Wimberly has accepted the job of pastor of Trinity Heights Baptist Church in north Shreveport.

Wimberly told the packed house of worshipers “I hope this is not my last time to preach here!” He adds that “I was not looking to move, but God stepped in and moved us.”

As for the future “I believe the best days of Open Door Fellowship are yet to come.” said Wimberly. His final sermon was on the Foundational Principals of Preaching.

Wimberly then challenged the Open Door congregation “not to settle for anything less than a man who preaches from the Bible and applies it to the people’s lives” when selecting a new head pastor. He adds “the key to ninety percent of the growth of Open Door Fellowship is preaching the word.”

The church’s Youth Pastor, JP Hardy will preach for the coming weeks while a search is made for a new head pastor.
