At 7:44pm, while Red River Parish Sheriffs Deputy Brandon Jackson was traveling through Natchitoches Parish he discovered a vehicle fire on Interstate-49 northbound near Cypress according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #5 responded. The interstate was shutdown temporarily while firefighters battled the blaze.

There were no injuries. The vehicle was a total loss. The family was transported to a Natchitoches hotel.
